He knew it was time to talk to her, to let his voice be heard on the issues at hand. But he couldn't quite reach that moment of recognition that he so desperately required to move on. 'I wanted to ask you to dance, but it just seemed so stupidly cliched that I decided not to say anything at all. The eternal wallflower speaks his mind, finally, I guess...' His voice trembled, danced over the words, falling over 'dance' and standing back up at 'wallflower.' Confidence regained in self-deprecation. Tick, tick tick, tick, tick tick tick. Moment to moment, silence moving up, piercing his throat.

Staring at a blank screen, she took the time to write it down.
She runs in/side to look at his face. Screams, then laughs at her foolish behaviour. It is not Hallowe'en, after all... just about, but not quite near enough for this to be considered acceptable. A few scares away...
He began to sing in her ear, 'La la la la lalalala...' and she was unimpressed by it all. The sparkle of laughter, the hint of arousal was not there. Void of all interest, she walked away again, smiling.
